SEPANG – The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission ship is expected to enter the red zone and approach Gaza this Thursday, according to the Sumud Nusantara Control Center (SNCC).
SNCC Director General, Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby, said the flotilla is now about 366 nautical miles from Gaza’s coast and is expected to enter the yellow zone at 9.18pm Malaysian time.
“SNCC expects a slight delay, and the red zone entry will begin on Thursday. I want to stress that the prediction of the ship entering tomorrow is not accurate. While many supporters are making their own analysis, I urge them to rely only on official updates from SNCC,” he said during a press conference held at the SNCC, located at the Malaysian Islamic Consultative Council (Mapim) Warehouse, on Monday.
Dr Sani, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Mapim, dismissed claims circulating online that one of the mission ships had caught fire.
“To date, no ship has been on fire as alleged. All 34 Malaysian delegates are safe and in good condition aboard their respective ships,” he confirmed.
He further explained that the security situation remained stable, with no drone activity detected over the past two days. The flotilla, he added, is also being monitored by Spanish and Italian frigates while sailing in international waters.
Dr Sani urged all quarters to verify information through SNCC to prevent confusion and the spread of Zionist propaganda.
“We call on supporters, families, media and the public to continue giving moral support and not be swayed by efforts to undermine this international solidarity mission. The flotilla is still on course to Gaza, God willing, and we will continue to issue daily official reports to ensure accurate and up-to-date information reaches everyone,” he said.
