SARIKEI – An allocation of RM1.87 million has been designated to enhance public facilities, educational institutions, and religious buildings throughout the Sarikei division. This funding forms part of the government’s broader strategy to foster inclusive development.
The initiative is supported by the Projek Mesra Rakyat (PMR) programme. For the current year, a RM2 million provision covers 29 physical projects valued at RM762,300 and 36 supply projects costing RM1.237 million.
The upcoming year will see an identical RM2 million allocation distributed across 42 physical and 25 supply projects.
These works are concentrated on essential infrastructure such as road and drainage enhancements, alongside providing necessary supplies to rural and longhouse communities.
Additional approved schemes comprise seven mosque and surau projects worth RM1 million and three post-flood school repair projects amounting to RM240,000.
Further investments include a special Ihsan MADANI Fund project, four Smart Projects, and six Solar MADANI initiatives, collectively elevating the total community development investment to the stated figure.
Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability and Sarikei MP, stated that these allocations demonstrate the government’s dedication to delivering tangible benefits.
He affirmed that through PMR and associated programmes, the government is ensuring infrastructure and public facility improvements reach all segments of society.
