He explained that the challenging, hilly terrain in northern Sarawak required a sustainable approach for the SSLR2 project.

The presentation to judges emphasised the department’s comprehensive digital implementation and use of innovative applications to achieve sustainable outcomes.

The Sarawak JKR triumphed over two other finalists in the category: Arcadis from Australia and PowerChina ZhongNan Engineering Corporation Ltd. from China.

The prestigious awards, organised by the global infrastructure engineering firm Bentley Systems, received nearly 250 nominations from 47 countries.

Finalists across 12 categories were selected by an independent panel of international industry experts. The award recognises exceptional infrastructure projects and organisations that successfully leverage digital innovation to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
