The local assemblyman, Billy Sujang, detailed the forthcoming work at the Kampung Sedemak Family Day 2025 this past Saturday.

He confirmed that multiple projects are either in progress or scheduled to begin soon, aimed at enhancing living standards and local infrastructure within the Opar constituency.

A significant allocation of RM700,000 has been designated for a garden road project. This initiative is intended to improve connectivity for villagers, facilitating the transport of agricultural goods to market centres. Another approved scheme focuses on vital drainage improvements.

A sum of RM150,000 has been committed to an ‘engkelebat’ project, a local term for a drainage structure designed to mitigate flood risks and manage water flow more effectively.

Sujang affirmed that these are part of a broader package of works planned for the area surrounding Kampung Sedemak.

Beyond physical infrastructure, the assemblyman encouraged residents and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) to consider further enhancing community assets.

He specifically suggested developing the local recreation centre into a more comprehensive facility for wider public use.

Sujang also took the opportunity to commend the villagers for their initiative in organising the family day event. He expressed pride in seeing community-led programmes that successfully strengthen social bonds and foster unity among residents.

The event, held in an open area at the front of the village, showcased a proactive and collaborative spirit within the community.

The coordinated effort between the state council, the development agency, and local committees underscores a continued push to improve facilities and economic opportunities in the region’s villages.
