Kuching Gears Up for Malaysia’s First “Beware of Buaya” Fun Run

KUCHING – Running enthusiasts and families in Kuching have a new reason to lace up their sneakers this December with the launch of Malaysia’s first “Beware of Buaya” Fun Run. Promising a blend of excitement and relaxation, the event invites participants to join either Team Buaya 🐊 or Team Duck 🦆 in a 5km fun run along the scenic night routes of Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS).

Scheduled for 20 December 2025, the run begins at 6:30 pm and concludes at 10:00 pm, offering a comfortable evening atmosphere for all ages, including children. Organisers highlight that this is a chill run with no time limit, allowing participants to enjoy the experience while competing in a lighthearted team challenge.

Each participant will receive exclusive merchandise based on their chosen team. Team Buaya members will get a cute yet fierce crocodile figurine, while Team Duck participants will receive a charming, innocent duck figurine. All runners are entitled to a limited-edition “Beware of Buaya” T-shirt, a finisher medal featuring the MBKS icon, and an e-certificate.

Adding to the excitement, special rewards await the first three finishers from any team, who will earn a prize for their entire team. After the run, participants can enjoy various activities and lucky draws, making it an engaging evening for families and friends alike.

Registration is now open, with early bird prices starting from RM50 per person until 20 November. Regular registration closes on 30 November at RM60 per person. A limited number of slots are available, with the first 250 participants per team receiving a special discounted rate.
