Final Inspection of SK Kampung Baru Completed, Handover Imminent

KAPIT – The construction of the new Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Baru building has reached its final stage, with the last inspection visit carried out today ahead of the official key handover.

The inspection was jointly conducted by the Kapit District Education Office (PPD), the Public Works Department (JKR), the implementing contractor, and representatives from the school’s administration and teaching staff.

The exercise was aimed at ensuring that all facilities and structures were completed according to specifications, safe for use, and ready to serve the needs of students and staff.

Key areas of focus included the building’s structural integrity, finishing works, electrical wiring, clean water supply, toilet facilities, fire safety installations, emergency routes, and other essential infrastructure.

Classrooms, administration blocks, laboratories, and support spaces were also thoroughly reviewed to confirm that they function as intended.

The detailed inspection allowed any minor deficiencies to be identified and rectified before the official handover.

This process reflects the government’s commitment to delivering quality educational infrastructure that is both safe and conducive to learning.

The new SK Kampung Baru building is part of Sarawak’s broader initiative to upgrade rural schools, ensuring that students in remote areas benefit from modern facilities comparable to those in urban centres.

The project underscores the state’s focus on improving access to education and creating a supportive environment for both teaching and learning.

Local education officials noted that the completion of the project will provide a more comfortable and secure environment for pupils, teachers, and the wider community.

The new infrastructure is expected to enhance the overall learning experience, reduce overcrowding, and support the delivery of quality education in Kapit.

With the inspection now completed, the school is expected to receive the keys soon, marking the beginning of a new chapter for SK Kampung Baru and its community.
