Sarawak’s Manjeet Kaur Sidhu Among AFFIN INVIKTA TOP50 Women of Excellence 2025

Sarawak’s Manjeet Kaur Sidhu Among AFFIN INVIKTA TOP50 Women of Excellence 2025

KUCHING — From humble beginnings to national recognition, Manjeet Kaur Sidhu has emerged as one of Sarawak’s most impactful humanitarian leaders. Her dedication to transforming compassion into action has earned her a place among the AFFIN INVIKTA TOP50 Women of Excellence 2025, a prestigious accolade celebrating Malaysia’s most inspiring women leaders.

As President of Pertubuhan Pembangunan Insan Sarawak (PPIS), Manjeet has been at the forefront of advocating for the most vulnerable communities. Her initiatives extend across single mothers, widows, rural families, stateless children, domestic violence survivors, and women in crisis. She also founded the Dawn Hope Care Centre, a sanctuary providing protection, dignity, and new beginnings for pregnant teenagers and women in need.

Manjeet’s contributions have been widely recognised over the years. She has received the Bintang Bentara Sarawak (BBS), Anugerah Kasih Wanita Harmoni 2024, Premier Social Activist Award Sarawak, and the Outstanding Women Achiever Award 2023, reflecting her unwavering commitment to social welfare and community empowerment.

Under her leadership, PPIS has expanded its reach to serve communities across Sarawak. The organisation offers crisis intervention for gender-based violence, economic empowerment programmes for single mothers and widows, and humanitarian relief for underserved rural areas. It also provides Back-to-School support for disadvantaged children, public health initiatives including blood donation drives and cancer awareness campaigns, and advocacy for stateless mothers and children to secure legal documentation and access to basic rights.

Through her work, Manjeet has transformed countless lives — rescuing families from abuse, restoring dignity to women, supporting children’s education, and giving stateless families hope for a recognised future. Her national recognition highlights the vital role of grassroots leadership and demonstrates how empowering one woman or one family can uplift entire communities.

Manjeet’s story stands as a reminder that true change in Malaysia begins with compassion and action, proving that dedicated individuals can inspire nationwide impact.
