KUALA LUMPUR – The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, has been conferred an Honorary Doctor of Management Degree by Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) during its 24th Convocation Ceremony at the Merdeka Hall, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) on 13 December.
Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi arrived at the venue at 8.05 am, accompanied by his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi and family members, including daughters Sharifah Fariah with her husband Encik Mohd Syukri, Sharifah Nong Jasima with her husband Encik Nur Hakeem, Sharifah Nuril Barieyah, granddaughter Athena, as well as Encik Winston and Puan Se-Tho.
The delegation was warmly received by Dato’ Mohamed Nizam Tun Abdul Razak, Pro-Chancellor of UNIRAZAK, Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Works Malaysia and acting Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development, alongside Encik Amil Izham Hamzah, Chief Executive Officer of UNIRAZAK, and other distinguished guests.
In his acceptance speech, Tun Pehin Sri expressed deep gratitude and humility, noting that the award symbolised recognition not only of his personal journey but also of the values of service, integrity, and lifelong learning that have guided his career.
He stressed that leadership is defined by character and personality, with integrity, empathy, and wisdom forming the foundation of public trust.
He urged graduates to serve society with sincerity, lead with humility, and apply knowledge as a tool to build a more just and competitive nation.
He congratulated the Class of 2025, describing them as embodying the convocation theme “Breaking Through”, which reflects perseverance, discipline, and determination in overcoming challenges and adapting to global changes.
The ceremony concluded with a photo session involving distinguished guests and family members. Tun Pehin Sri later expressed appreciation to UNIRAZAK for its commitment to inclusive education, particularly for those pursuing unconventional learning paths.
He praised the institution’s role in promoting lifelong education as a catalyst for both human and national progress.
