SIBU – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Malaysia, through JPJ Sarawak, has officially launched Ops Krismas 2025 at the Sibu Bus Terminal, marking a proactive step to strengthen road safety enforcement and advocacy during the Christmas festive season.
The launching ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Muhammad Kifli bin Ma Hassan, Senior Director of Enforcement, JPJ Malaysia. In his address, Dato’ Muhammad Kifli highlighted the importance of maintaining road safety while ensuring the smooth flow of traffic for all road users during the holiday period. “Our goal is to create a safer and more orderly environment for travellers this festive season,” he said.
Also present at the event was YBrs. Norizan bin Jili, Director of JPJ Sarawak, along with representatives from strategic partner agencies. Ops Krismas 2025 emphasizes close cooperation between multiple enforcement and regulatory bodies, including the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP), and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK). Through joint efforts, the operation aims to reduce traffic incidents, promote compliance with traffic laws, and enhance public awareness of road safety measures.
JPJ Sarawak reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying road safety enforcement and advocacy programs throughout the festive season. Authorities encourage the public to adhere strictly to traffic rules, maintain vehicles in proper working condition, and plan their journeys carefully to prevent accidents and ensure a safer travel experience.
As Malaysians celebrate the holiday season, initiatives like Ops Krismas 2025 play a crucial role in safeguarding lives on the road and fostering responsible driving habits across the state. The public is reminded that safety begins with individual responsibility, and cooperative efforts between authorities and road users are key to reducing accidents during festive travel.
