Welfare Visit Brings Comfort to Late Sri Aman Nurse’s Family

Welfare Visit Brings Comfort to Late Sri Aman Nurse’s Family

Sri Aman – A welfare visit was held today to support the family of the late Angelin Kibin, a dedicated nurse from Sri Aman Hospital, and her late husband, Andy Roy Anak Junran, who served as the Headmaster of SK Sbangki, Lubok Antu. The visit took place at the family residence in Taman Mutiara, Sri Aman, and was carried out in a spirit of compassion, respect, and solidarity during a deeply painful period for the bereaved family.

The visit was led by Dr. Azlee bin Ayub, Deputy Director of Sarawak State Health for Medicine, representing the Sarawak State Director of Health. He was accompanied by Dr. Hazwani binti Mohd Yusop, Director of Sri Aman Hospital, together with several officers and staff from the Sarawak State Health Department and Sri Aman Hospital. Their presence reflected the collective concern of the health community for one of their own and her family.

During the visit, Dr. Azlee conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Sarawak State Health Department to the family members. Contributions from the department were handed over to the family and received by Mr. Kibin Jaya, the father of the late Angelin Kibin. These contributions were intended to ease the immediate burden faced by the family and to demonstrate that they are not alone in this difficult journey. Dr. Hazwani also presented contributions from Sri Aman Hospital through the same family representative, symbolising the hospital’s appreciation and remembrance of Angelin’s service and dedication.

Beyond material assistance, emotional and psychological support was also prioritised. Psychological First Aid support was implemented soon after the incident to help family members and colleagues cope with the sudden loss. This early intervention provided a safe space for emotional expression and helped reduce distress during the initial stages of grief.

The visit underscored the values long upheld within Malaysia’s public service, where care extends beyond duty and into genuine human connection. The presence of senior management and health workers sent a clear message of unity, empathy, and shared responsibility in times of sorrow.

Sri Aman Hospital and the Sarawak State Health Department once again expressed their deepest condolences to the family of the late Angelin Kibin and Andy Roy Anak Junran. It is hoped that the family will find strength, patience, and perseverance as they navigate this period of loss, supported by the community that stands with them.
