Sarawak Entrepreneurs Shine in Shell LiveWire Malaysia 2025 Awards

KUCHING – Sarawak has further stamped its mark as a honing ground for creative entrepreneurs when three homegrown companies were announced among the top five winners of the Shell LiveWire Malaysia 2025 National Award.

The event, witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof underscore the value of the Federal Government to Sarawak’s emerging leadership to cultivate more competitive and socially relevant entrepreneurs.

He said the entrepreneurial spirit of the state could be a trigger for Malaysia’s next phase of economic change.

“The trust and tools and opportunities that young people need, when we give them those things, they not only don’t fail us, but they become the engine of an economy and a future that is more inclusive. This is the strength that Sarawak is proving today,” he added.

Sarawak’s three other winners were Earthlings Coffee Workshop Sdn Bhd, Lariss Quna Enterprise and Lettuboost Enterprise.

All the companies were notable for their community-driven innovation, cultural heritage and sustainable agricultural technology.

Two other companies from Malaysia joined them to make the five national winners, showcasing a wide range of entrepreneurial skills found in the community.

Datuk Len Talif Salleh, TEGAS Chairman, Teguh said that the Milestone continues to reflect on the robustness of Sarawak’s 3P (Public Private Partnership) entrepreneurial ecosystem that was built progressively over phased strategies with An industry partner.

He repeated TEGAS’s commitment to bridge the gap among government, industry as well as start-ups.

“TEGAS is steadfast on building an ecosystem where entrepreneurship can be celebrated, innovation can be empowered and to multiply economic impact through collaboration between the government, industry and start-ups,” he pointed out.

Datuk Len also disclosed that the second phase of the Tegas Digital Village, which is called Tegas Lodge Sarawak, would further enhance the state’s digital and innovation footprint.

Dubbed a co-living centre for entrepreneurs and digital nomads, the project is in line with Sarawak’s objective of becoming a regional digital economic hub as part of its post-2030 master plan.

LiveWire programme was a great partner in enhancing the reach of this program,” Siti said.

“When we invest in local talent, we’re creating space for ideas that make a difference over the long term. “Sarawak demonstrates how community-based innovation can be scaled at the national and global level,” she said.

All five winners’ were awarded with RM30,000 in seed funding and the opportunity to tap into the LiveWire global network.

On another hand, (TEGAS) gave a special RM20,000 to all Sarawak’s winners, for them to continue to grow in their businesses.

Notable figures present at the event include Datin Amar Ruziah Mohd Tahir, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak and Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Board of Trustee Members from TEGAS.

This accreditation further cements Sarawak’s increasingly significant contribution not only to entrepreneurship development, but also in advancing the country’s innovative and sustainable economic growth.
