Toh Puan Fauziah Returns to Kuching After Kuala Lumpur Visit

KUCHING – Spouse of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi has safely landed at Kuching International Airport on 25 January evening after travelling from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA 1).

Her plane landed at 6.55 pm and this is her first trip back to Sarawak after making a brief stop in the capital. She was travelling to visit her aunt, who is now recuperating at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur.

All of us TYT Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Toh Puan visited her aunt, prayed for her to recover, may God restore good health to her very soon. They also thanked all involved for facilitating the handling of arrangements when she was in Kuala Lumpur.

Toh Puan’s arrival in Kuching was observed to be a safe and well planned event, nothing less than the meticulous preparation of the airport and protocol officials. Her family in Kuala Lumpur reinforced the need for family support and help during such sick times.

The return of Toh Puan also places public duties up against the family-love values exhibited by Sarawak’s leaders, where obligations to kin are held as important, condition in which she will now be able to find her centre of balance thereof. The Governor and his Lady among others have always never failed to stress on compassion and togetherness, especially in individual challenges or communal crisis.

Her safe return was joyfully welcomed, and the couple’s prayers for their relative also reflect Sarawak society s greater focus on familial unity and concern. And the visit, while intensely personal, also illustrated how the civic obligations of a state’s chief executives redound to their families too.
