APM Sarawak Welcomes New Kuching District Officer Lt Col Ismail

KUCHING – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sarawak has officially welcomed Lt Col (PA) Ismail bin Mahedin, who has reported for duty at the state headquarters.

His appointment is expected to further strengthen leadership within the organisation and enhance the effectiveness of APM’s services throughout Sarawak.

Officials expressed confidence that his presence will contribute positively to the force’s mission of safeguarding community welfare and maintaining a high level of operational readiness.

APM Sarawak noted that the arrival of Lt Col Ismail comes at a time when the organisation continues to expand its role in disaster preparedness, emergency response and humanitarian assistance.

The leadership transition is viewed as an opportunity to reinforce strategic direction and improve coordination with other government agencies.

The Civil Defence Force has long upheld values such as integrity, speed and resilience in carrying out its duties.

With new leadership in place, APM aims to further embed these principles into daily operations, ensuring that communities across Sarawak continue to receive efficient and reliable services.

Officials added that leadership renewal is part of APM’s broader commitment to maintaining excellence in public service.

By combining fresh perspectives with established practices, the organisation hopes to achieve stronger synergy and effectiveness in its overall operations.

The announcement was accompanied by a reaffirmation of APM’s dedication to the community, guided by its principle, “Ready to be quickly integrated.”

This reflects the organisation’s determination to adapt swiftly to challenges while upholding high standards of service.

Residents are reminded that APM remains ready to provide assistance during emergencies and continues to serve as a trusted partner in ensuring public safety.
