SELANGAU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Selangau District responded promptly to an insect-related incident at Balingian Power Generation, Bukut, on 11 February 2026.
The Selangau District Operations Control Centre received a report from another agency about insects spotted under the facility’s roof. A task squad was immediately dispatched to assess the situation.
Upon arrival, the team found bees clustered in two areas beneath the roof. The insects were not nesting but had gathered in groups. APM members carried out extermination using Ridsect spray, successfully neutralising the threat.
The operation concluded smoothly, with no injuries or property damage reported. APM confirmed that the situation was safe and fully under control following the intervention.
Officials highlighted that rapid responses like this reflect APM’s commitment to community safety, ensuring potential hazards are addressed quickly to protect workers and nearby residents.
APM Selangau reminded the public that its 24-hour hotline, 084-891285, is available for emergencies requiring immediate assistance.
