Sabah Chief Minister Joins 148th Meeting of Chief Minister

KUALA LUMPUR – The 148th Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers Meeting was held today at the Parliament Building, chaired by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The session brought together state leaders to discuss policies and strengthen cooperation between the federal and state governments.

Among those present was Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor, Chief Minister of Sabah. He noted that the meeting provides a platform for states to share their perspectives and ensure local interests are represented at the national level.

The gathering allowed leaders to exchange views on governance, development priorities, and strategies to address challenges faced by different regions.

Such meetings are held regularly to align state administrations with federal policies, ensuring decisions serve the well-being of citizens.

In his remarks, Hajiji Haji Noor said: “This meeting is an important platform to coordinate policies, share views and ensure that the state’s voice and interests continue to be brought to the Federal level for the well-being of the people.”

He emphasised that collaboration between the Federal Government and the states is crucial for long-term stability and growth.

“Close cooperation between the state and federal governments is the key to stability, continuous development and a more secure future for Sabah,” he added.

The Chief Minister’s comments reflect Sabah’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its role within the federation while ensuring local priorities are not overlooked.

Infrastructure development, economic diversification, and social welfare remain central to the state’s agenda, with federal coordination seen as essential to achieving these goals.

Observers note that the meeting also highlights the importance of federal-state relations in Malaysia’s governance.

By fostering dialogue and consensus, the conference balances national objectives with regional needs, providing a framework for inclusive development.

The 148th session continues the tradition of structured engagement between state leaders and the federal administration, reinforcing the principle that unity and cooperation are essential for national progress.
