JPJ Serian Conducts Ops Patuh to Strengthen Road Law Compliance

SERIAN – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Serian Branch Operations Unit carried out Ops Patuh on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, through patrols and monitoring around Serian town. The operation was aimed at ensuring that road users consistently comply with transport laws and regulations.

A total of 98 vehicles, both commercial and private, were inspected during the enforcement exercise. Officers detected several violations, including expired driving licences, expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), and the use of registration numbers that did not meet the required specifications. Technical offences relating to vehicle safety standards were also identified.

JPJ Serian emphasised that enforcement will continue to be strengthened to ensure compliance remains under control.

The department highlighted that every road user has a responsibility to maintain valid documentation and ensure their vehicles are in safe condition before being used on the road.

Officials reminded the public that expired licences and improper registration plates are not minor issues, as they can compromise safety and lead to enforcement action.

The operation also served as a warning to vehicle owners to remain vigilant in keeping their documents up to date.

Ops Patuh reflects JPJ’s broader mission to uphold integrity and accountability in road transport management.

By targeting both private and commercial vehicles, the department aims to foster a culture of responsibility among all road users.

JPJ Sarawak has reiterated its commitment to intensifying enforcement measures across the state. Regular patrols and monitoring will continue to be conducted to safeguard communities and reduce risks on the road.

The public is urged to take proactive steps in ensuring compliance, as negligence not only risks penalties but also endangers the safety of other road users.
