JPJ Kapit Conducts Ops Patuh to Enforce Road Safety

KAPIT – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Kapit Branch Operations Unit carried out Ops Patuh on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, through patrols and monitoring around Kapit town. The operation was aimed at ensuring that all road users comply with established laws and regulations.

During the enforcement exercise, a total of 106 vehicles, both commercial and private, were inspected. Officers detected several violations, including drivers without valid licences, expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), vehicles without insurance coverage, and other technical offences relating to roadworthiness.

JPJ Kapit stressed that enforcement operations are crucial to maintaining safety standards on the road. The department highlighted that expired licences and lack of insurance are serious breaches that can endanger both drivers and the wider community.

Officials reiterated that enforcement will continue to be intensified from time to time to ensure compliance remains high.
