SIBU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sibu Division responded swiftly to a road accident reported along Jalan Alan in the early hours of 18 February.
The emergency call was received at 12.20am from a member of the public, prompting immediate mobilisation of the rescue team. APM personnel arrived at the scene within minutes, reaching the location at 12.31am.
Initial assessments revealed that the victim had sustained an open wound on the right leg and a dislocated right shoulder. First aid was administered on-site, including cleaning the wound with sodium chloride solution and applying bandages to stabilise the injury.
Following treatment, the victim was transported to Sibu Hospital for further medical care. Authorities confirmed that the situation at the accident site remained under control throughout the operation.
APM Sibu expressed appreciation to members of the public for their quick action in reporting the incident, which enabled a timely response. Officials reminded drivers to remain vigilant, particularly during late-night journeys, to reduce the risk of accidents.
