Briyani Rice Sharing Brings Ramadan Spirit to Mukah

MUKAH – More than 800 packets of briyani rice were distributed to the public on Monday as part of a Ramadan sharing initiative held at the Darul Huda Mosque compound in Kampung Kuala Lama.

The programme was organised by the Kuala Lama Community Welfare and Charity Organisation in collaboration with the Kuala Lama Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK). It was further supported by the Mukah Parliamentary Service Centre Office, RHB Bank, Darul Huda Mosque, and 101 Superman Speedmart.

The initiative aimed to promote a culture of sharing sustenance and to strengthen the spirit of unity among the local community during the holy month of Ramadan. Organisers highlighted that such acts of generosity not only provide meals but also foster compassion and solidarity among residents.

Distribution began at 4.30pm and drew an encouraging response from the public. The strong turnout reflected the community’s appreciation for welfare-based programmes and the importance of collective support during festive seasons.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including Mukah Parliamentary Service Centre Officer Michelle, Mukah District Officer Peleadzman Ahip, Mukah District Police Chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias, and Chairman of the Kampung Kuala Lama Community Welfare and Charitable Organisation Hamdin Morshidi.

Their presence underscored the significance of the initiative and the collaborative effort between government agencies, local organisations, and private sponsors.

Community-driven programmes such as this briyani rice distribution have become a hallmark of Ramadan in Sarawak, offering both practical assistance and symbolic gestures of care. Organisers expressed hope that the initiative would inspire more acts of kindness and encourage residents to continue supporting one another.

The event not only provided meals but also reinforced the values of generosity and togetherness, ensuring that the Ramadan atmosphere in Mukah was filled with warmth and community spirit.
