BETONG – The Betong Division Public Works Department (JKR) held its Division Engineer Prime Minister’s Address on 24 February 2026, attended by 148 officers and staff.
The event focused on the department’s strategic direction and reinforced its commitment to delivering high-impact projects for the people.
The ceremony began with detailed presentations by the Assistant Division Engineer (Operations) and Assistant Division Engineer (Development).
They reviewed achievements, current performance, and challenges, reflecting JKR’s determination to maintain efficiency and quality in project delivery.
Division Engineer Jason Ng Boon Tuan introduced the B-E-T-O-N-G transformation mandate, a framework of values and principles designed to guide the department’s work culture and service delivery.
B-E-T-O-N-G Mandate:
- B – Berintegriti (Integrity): Responsible management of public funds, transparent reporting, and uncompromising ethics.
- E – Efisien (Efficient): Discipline in meeting schedules, quick resolution of site issues, and systematic processes.
- T – Tegas (Firm): Strong accountability for contractors, strict compliance monitoring, and decisive professional action.
- O – Orientasi Kualiti (Quality Orientation): Zero-defect mindset, continuous quality control, and sustainable infrastructure delivery.
- N – Niat Khidmat (Service Intention): Prioritising public well-being, impactful projects, and teamwork.
- G – Gigih (Persistent): Commitment under pressure, innovative solutions, and continuous professional growth.
As a symbol of unity, all JKR Betong staff recited the B-E-T-O-N-G pledge, affirming their dedication to integrity, efficiency, and service excellence.
The event also featured the official launch of the JKR Betong Year Book 2025, themed “From Vision To Reality: JKR Betong Achievements”.
Edited by SE Hasrul Nizzah Abu Hassan and his team, the publication documents the department’s accomplishments and showcases its ability to turn plans into tangible results.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to Jerrard Lambert Edward, Christina Bada, and Khairul Azhar Rakli for their contributions to sports and social activities, highlighting the department’s commitment to holistic staff development.
The Division Engineer’s Address was described as more than an annual mandate; it was a declaration of determination to strengthen integrity, enhance performance, and empower delivery for the people of Betong.
