Sarawak Forestry Director Joins NFCC Policy Briefing in Kuching

KUCHING – The Sarawak Forestry Director attended a policy briefing and engagement session organised by the National Financial Crimes Prevention Centre (NFCC) on 25 February 2026 at Wisma Bapa Malaysia.

The meeting was chaired by YB Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar Bin Marzuki, Sarawak State Secretary, and brought together senior officials from key state agencies.

Among those present were the Director of the Sarawak Land and Survey Department and representatives from the Sarawak Attorney General’s Chambers.

The session focused on strengthening coordination between state departments and national agencies in addressing financial crime prevention policies.

Officials discussed strategies to enhance governance, improve transparency, and ensure compliance with national frameworks.

The participation of the Sarawak Forestry Department reflects the importance of cross-sector collaboration in safeguarding public resources and ensuring accountability.

Forestry management, land administration, and legal oversight are all areas where financial integrity plays a crucial role in supporting sustainable development.

NFCC’s engagement with Sarawak agencies is part of its wider mission to build stronger institutional frameworks against financial misconduct.

By involving multiple departments, the centre aims to ensure that preventive measures are integrated across different sectors of governance.

The meeting also highlighted the role of effective communication between agencies in tackling complex issues.

With financial crimes often spanning multiple jurisdictions and sectors, collaboration is seen as essential to maintaining public trust and protecting state interests.

Sarawak officials reaffirmed their commitment to supporting NFCC’s initiatives and strengthening the state’s governance systems.

The briefing at Wisma Bapa Malaysia is expected to pave the way for closer cooperation and more robust policy implementation in the future.
