Satok Aidilfitri Bazaar Returns 5 March in Kuching

Satok Aidilfitri Bazaar Returns 5 March in Kuching

KUCHING – The much-awaited Satok Aidilfitri Bazaar will return along Satok Road starting March 5, 2026, bringing the festive mood of Hari Raya closer to the city as Ramadan begins. Organised by the Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Cooperative Berhad, the annual bazaar will operate daily from 10 am until midnight and continue until the eve of Hari Raya.

As in previous years, the appearance of long white canopies stretching along Satok Road signals that preparations for the festive season are well underway. The bazaar site will cover the stretch from Mita Cake House to Chicken Hartz Buffet, turning the busy road into a vibrant marketplace for shoppers preparing for Aidilfitri.

The Satok Aidilfitri Bazaar has long been a key attraction for residents in Kuching and nearby areas whenever Hari Raya approaches. It is not just a place to shop, but also a gathering point for families and friends to enjoy the festive atmosphere after breaking fast during Ramadan.

This year, around 200 hawkers are expected to take part, offering a wide range of festive goods. Shoppers can look forward to traditional Malay attire and accessories, including baju Melayu buttons, songkok, tudung and capal. A variety of Raya biscuits and traditional delicacies will also be available, alongside pickles and other festive treats that are popular during open house visits.

For many small traders, the bazaar provides an important opportunity to boost their income during the festive season. It also supports local entrepreneurs by giving them direct access to customers in a strategic location within the city.

City residents have expressed excitement over the return of the bazaar, describing it as a yearly tradition that marks the countdown to Syawal. The lively atmosphere, colourful stalls and variety of goods make it a one-stop centre for Raya preparations.

With Ramadan already here, the Satok Aidilfitri Bazaar once again stands as a reminder of the strong community spirit in Kuching. As families prepare for Hari Raya, the bazaar is expected to draw large crowds seeking both necessities and the warmth of shared festive anticipation.
