The event came through a joint effort by Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) and the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS). The riverside venue turned into a gathering spot where families, friends, and visitors from different backgrounds shared the moment of breaking fast together.

A range of activities added colour to the programme. Children joined a colouring competition while visitors received traditional dishes. Among the highlights were bubur lambuk, bubur pedas, bubur Ashura, assorted kuih-muih, and specially prepared iftar packs.

Sponsors played a major role in supporting the event. The Sarawak Islamic Council prepared 5,000 iftar packs along with bubur Ashura. Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad stood as the largest sponsor, contributing 3,000 sweets and bottled water while also supporting the dinner.

Additional support came from Affin Bank Berhad and Mahashafi Restaurant. Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Batu Lintang donated 1,000 packs of bubur pedas, while Maggi Malaysia supplied 1,000 packs of bubur lambuk.

This year’s programme also introduced the Glamping Ramadan experience. Visitors enjoyed breaking fast in a relaxed glamping setup along the waterfront, adding a fresh element to the gathering.

Among the dignitaries present were Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Hilmy Othman, Misnu Taha, Ruslan Abdul Ghani, and entrepreneur Ramzi Abdillah.

The gathering reflected strong cooperation between government agencies, private sponsors, and community groups. Through shared meals, cultural traditions, and new ideas, Iftar Perdana 2.0 strengthened the sense of togetherness across Kuching during Ramadan.
