KOTA SAMARAHAN – The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) held a Lambuk and Dates Distribution Programme at the Uptown Desa Ilmu Ramadan Bazaar on 6 March 2026, spreading festive cheer among residents during Ramadan.
The programme was officiated by Rubiah Wang, Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Member of Parliament for P.197 Kota Samarahan. She said programmes like this strengthen ties between government agencies, traders, and the local community while adding meaning to the holy month.
During the event, 600 packs of bubur lambuk and dates were distributed to government departments, traders, and visitors at the busy bazaar. Many welcomed the initiative, which encouraged sharing and strengthened the sense of community.
Datuk Rubiah also spent time greeting traders and handing out the lambuk packs herself. Her interaction with vendors and visitors brought a warm and personal atmosphere to the event, reflecting close engagement between leaders and residents.
Also present were MPKS Municipal Chairman Abang Ismawi bin Abang Ali, Deputy Chairman Darily Joseph, and Municipal Secretary Gustian Durani, who joined in supporting the programme.
The initiative formed part of MPKS’s ongoing efforts to enliven Ramadan and strengthen unity among residents. By involving traders, agencies, and visitors, the council created a lively and welcoming atmosphere at the bazaar.
Community leaders hope similar programmes continue in the coming years, helping maintain the spirit of sharing and compassion while strengthening social ties across Kota Samarahan.
