KUCHING – The Sarawak Road Transport Department worked with Radio Televisyen Malaysia Kuching to record a radio interview on 12 March 2026, sharing details of Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026. The session took place at Konti Wai FM and featured senior JPJ Sarawak officials.
The interview included Mohd Faizal David Jemat and Christopher Alex Boniface Barau. Both spoke about enforcement plans for the festive period and outlined efforts to strengthen road safety awareness across the state.
Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri runs each year as traffic rises during Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Many families travel back to their hometowns during this time, which leads to heavier road use.
The operation focuses on strict traffic enforcement, vehicle inspections, and public education to reduce accidents.
During the broadcast, JPJ representatives urged drivers to avoid careless behaviours and follow traffic regulations at all times. They stressed the need for careful trip planning, regular vehicle checks, and full compliance with road rules.
The department also highlighted broader safety efforts, including awareness campaigns, cooperation with other enforcement agencies, and outreach programmes across communities. These initiatives aim to build responsible driving habits and lower accident rates in Sarawak.
Officials said collaboration with RTM offers a direct way to reach the public. Radio broadcasts allow safety messages to reach listeners in both urban and rural areas, widening the department’s engagement with the community.
Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 reflects JPJ’s focus on protecting road users during the festive season. Authorities stressed that following traffic laws protects not only drivers but also families and communities.
As Aidilfitri approaches, JPJ Sarawak continues urging road users to stay alert, drive responsibly, and place safety first during their journeys.
