Civil Defence Deputy Chief Visits Betong, Reviews Readiness

BETONG – The Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, YAS Pj. (PA) Ghazali bin Abd Rahman, conducted a working visit to the Betong District Civil Defence Force (APM) on Friday, reviewing personnel readiness and operational equipment.

The visit was aimed at ensuring that all assets and equipment are in good condition, safe, and ready for deployment at any time.

Inspections were carried out on various operational tools to confirm they were functioning properly and capable of supporting emergency assistance, rescue, and humanitarian services.

During the visit, YAS Pj. Ghazali stressed the importance of discipline and alertness among personnel, reminding them to remain prepared for any situation that requires swift and efficient action.

He highlighted that readiness is not only about equipment but also about the commitment and vigilance of members in the field.

The programme also provided an opportunity for officers and personnel to exchange views, share experiences, and strengthen teamwork.

Discussions were held in a relaxed yet meaningful manner, aimed at enhancing efficiency and reinforcing the dedication of members to their responsibilities.

The day’s activities concluded with a breaking of fast ceremony, which brought together APM members in a lively and warm atmosphere.

The event was seen as a chance to foster camaraderie, strengthen bonds of friendship, and reinforce the family spirit within the organisation.

Also present was Maj. (PA) Zulfaituri bin Ramlee, Assistant Director of Sarawak Civil Defence, along with a delegation from the headquarters and state offices.

Their participation underscored the importance of collective support and cooperation in ensuring the Civil Defence Force continues to serve the community effectively.

The visit reaffirmed the Civil Defence Force’s commitment to maintaining high standards of readiness, while the breaking of fast gathering highlighted the organisation’s emphasis on unity and togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan.
