Civil Defence Deputy Chief Strengthens Readiness in Serian Visit

SERIAN – The Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, YAS Pj. (PA) Ghazali Bin Abd Rahman, made a brief stop at the Serian District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) on Friday following his official working visit to PKOD Betong.

The visit was held in conjunction with the Heroes and National Defence Trusted Fund (TAPPN) handover ceremony, reflecting the department’s continued commitment to operational readiness across Sarawak.

During the inspection, YAS Pj. Ghazali reviewed the condition of operational equipment, ensuring that assets were safe, functional, and ready for immediate use in emergencies. He also toured the office facilities and met directly with officers and personnel, reinforcing the importance of discipline and preparedness in carrying out Civil Defence responsibilities.

The Deputy Chief Commissioner highlighted that readiness is not only about equipment but also about the morale and commitment of personnel. His engagement with members provided an opportunity to strengthen teamwork and foster a spirit of unity within the organisation.

In addition to the inspection, YAS Pj. Ghazali joined officers and members of APM Serian for moreh in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The gathering was seen as a meaningful way to build camaraderie and reinforce bonds of togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan.

Officials expressed hope that the visit would inspire personnel to maintain enthusiasm and dedication in their duties, ensuring that the Civil Defence Force remains prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and humanitarian needs.

Also present were officers from the headquarters and state offices, underscoring the collective support for strengthening operational standards across Sarawak.

The visit reaffirmed the Civil Defence Force’s mission to safeguard communities while promoting unity and resilience among its members.
