SRI AMAN – The Sri Aman District Education Office (PPD), through its Islamic Education Bureau, continued its annual community programme by organising the Nguar (Stirring) and Lambuk Porridge Distribution Programme on 13 March 2026. The event took place with support from Bank Rakyat and reflected the spirit of cooperation during the month of Ramadan.
The programme began with a Ramadan lecture delivered by Ustaz Haji Abang Azman bin Abang Mohamed, Islamic Affairs Officer at PAIB Sri Aman. His talk focused on unity, compassion, and reflection, values closely linked with the meaning of Ramadan.
Cooking started at 9.30 am at PKG, PPD Sri Aman. Staff, volunteers, and community members gathered to prepare the traditional lambuk porridge. The activity created a lively setting as participants worked side by side, strengthening friendships and community bonds.
At 3.00 pm, the porridge was distributed in front of SK Abang Aing. Residents, teachers, and students gathered to receive the meal. Tuan Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Muhiyuddin, Sri Aman District Education Officer, led the distribution alongside representatives from Bank Rakyat’s Sri Aman branch.
Organisers described the programme as more than a food distribution activity. The event strengthened relationships among the education community, local agencies, and residents while sharing the blessings of Ramadan. Cooperation with Bank Rakyat also highlighted the value of partnerships in sustaining community initiatives.
Lambuk porridge holds a long association with Ramadan in Malaysia and symbolises generosity and togetherness. Its preparation and distribution by PPD Sri Aman reflected the district’s effort to preserve cultural and religious traditions while encouraging social responsibility.
Participants expressed appreciation to all contributors who helped make the programme successful. Organisers also thanked Bank Rakyat for its support, along with volunteers and staff who gave their time and effort.
The Sri Aman District Education Office hopes the Nguar and Lambuk Porridge Distribution Programme continues in future years so the values of unity, care, and compassion remain strong within the community during Ramadan.
