ASAJAYA – The Asajaya Zone Ramadan Charity Tour Programme continued at Surau Darul Huda, drawing local residents together in a spirit of unity and generosity during the fasting month.
A key highlight of the programme involved the distribution of bubur lambuk, a dish closely linked with the traditions of Ramadan. Villagers gathered to receive the meal, which symbolises togetherness and helps strengthen bonds among members of the community.
The event was attended by Rubiah Wang, the Member of Parliament for Kota Samarahan. She expressed appreciation for the smooth organisation of the programme and noted that the initiative reflects the compassion and solidarity encouraged during Ramadan.
Organisers explained that the bubur lambuk tour forms part of a broader effort to reach communities across the Asajaya Zone throughout the fasting month. The programme is scheduled to continue the following day so more villages receive support from the charitable effort.
Residents welcomed the initiative, saying such activities help bring neighbours closer while offering assistance to families during Ramadan. Sharing food during the holy month carries strong cultural and religious meaning and continues to serve as a reminder of the value of generosity.
Community leaders also highlighted the importance of programmes like this in strengthening social ties, especially in rural areas where communal gatherings remain central to everyday life. The charity tour reflects wider efforts to promote inclusivity and care within the community.
The Asajaya Zone Ramadan Charity Tour will continue to several locations throughout the fasting month, with each stop reinforcing values of generosity and unity among residents.
As Ramadan progresses, activities such as the bubur lambuk distribution remind communities across Sarawak of the importance of compassion, mutual support, and shared traditions.
