JPJ Kuching Intensifies Patrols and Monitoring in Identified Hotspots

KUCHING – Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) Sarawak, Kuching branch, has increased patrols and monitoring activities across the state to strengthen road safety enforcement, particularly in identified traffic hotspots.

The operation carried out on 16 March involves JPJ branches throughout Sarawak, focusing on areas known for higher risks of traffic offences and accidents.

These locations were identified based on enforcement records, accident data, and feedback from the public.

According to the department, the stronger enforcement presence aims to encourage greater compliance with road regulations.

Officers are conducting patrols, observing driver behaviour, and checking vehicles to ensure they meet safety requirements.

The effort also forms part of preparations for the busy travel period ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and the school holidays, when traffic volume across the state usually increases.

JPJ Sarawak stressed road safety remains a shared responsibility. While enforcement helps maintain order on the roads, motorists must also drive carefully, follow traffic rules, and prioritise safety at all times.

The department reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining safe roads and called on the public to cooperate with enforcement efforts.

Through collective responsibility, JPJ aims to build a safer and more disciplined road environment across Sarawak.
