SIDS Marudi Branch Holds 31st AGM with Strong Member Support

MARUDI – The Marudi Branch of the Sarawak Dayak Women’s Association held its 31st Annual General Meeting at Rh Serakup SIDS in Marudi Market. The gathering drew 69 members and reflected steady support for the association’s work in the local community.

The meeting was chaired by Councillor Yanti Nyanggau, who leads the Marudi Branch and sits on the SIDS Sarawak Executive Committee.

Several councillors from the Marudi District Council attended the session, which showed continued institutional backing for the organisation.

Members of the general committee and unit leaders reviewed the branch’s progress and plans. The discussion covered the annual activity report, future programmes, and expectations for the branch’s 49 units.

Membership has reached 1,738, a sign of strong trust from the local community. The figure reflects growing involvement in SIDS activities and a wider reach across Marudi.

During the meeting, the branch presented the Best Unit Award. The recognition went to units with strong participation and consistent support for the association’s programmes. The award encourages local leaders to stay active in community initiatives.

The AGM also included a welfare activity. The branch distributed Tulung Rabat assistance to 43 heirs, a gesture aimed at supporting members and their families during difficult times.
