SIDS Marudi Branch Holds 31st AGM with Strong Member Support

MARUDI – The Marudi Branch of the Sarawak Dayak Women’s Association held its 31st Annual General Meeting at Rh Serakup SIDS in Marudi Market. The gathering drew 69 members and reflected steady support for the association’s work in the local community.

The meeting was chaired by Councillor Yanti Nyanggau, who leads the Marudi Branch and sits on the SIDS Sarawak Executive Committee.

Several councillors from the Marudi District Council attended the session, which showed continued institutional backing for the organisation.

During the meeting, the branch presented the Best Unit Award. The recognition went to units with strong participation and consistent support for the association’s programmes. The award encourages local leaders to stay active in community initiatives.

The AGM also included a welfare activity. The branch distributed Tulung Rabat assistance to 43 heirs, a gesture aimed at supporting members and their families during difficult times.

The session ended in a cooperative spirit. Participants voiced support for the association’s goal of strengthening women’s roles, supporting families, and building resilient communities.

Founded to support Dayak women across Sarawak, the Sarawak Dayak Women’s Association continues to play a key role in community development.

The work of the Marudi Branch shows how local chapters turn these goals into action through welfare support and active member engagement.

Regular gatherings such as the AGM keep the organisation accountable and maintain momentum. The 31st meeting in Marudi reaffirmed the branch’s achievements and set direction for further progress.

With rising membership and steady programmes, the SIDS Marudi Branch remains a strong platform for unity and welfare among Dayak women and their families in the region.
