Sarawak Leaders Unite at Aidilfitri Reception in Kuching

KUCHING – The Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 Reception hosted by the Sarawak Government Secretary, Deputy Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), and Unit Directors under the Sarawak Premier’s Office brought together senior leaders and officials in a lively celebration at the SABATI Hall on Monday.

The event was graced by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Prof. Dr Sim Kui Hian, who attended as a gesture of solidarity and unity within the state administration.

His arrival was warmly welcomed by Sarawak Government Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, the chief guest of the ceremony.

Among the distinguished attendees were Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Trade, Tourism, Creative Industries and Entertainment Arts; Dato Sri Saferi Ali, Sarawak Attorney General; Dato Sri Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, Sarawak Finance Secretary; and Dato Abdul Muhammad, Deputy Secretary to the Government of Sarawak (Economic Planning and Development).

Several deputy ministers also joined the occasion, including Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee and Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil from the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government; Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister of Trade, Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts; and Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi together with Datuk Sharifah Hazali Hazali from the Sarawak Premier’s Office.

The reception was further enriched by the presence of State Assembly Members (ADUN) such as Dato Ir. Lo Khere Chiang (Batu Kitang), Azizul Annuar Adenan (Tanjung Datu), Wilfred Yap Yau Sin (Kota Sentosa), and Johnny Pang Leong Ming (Tanjong Batu).

Local government leaders, including DBKU Mayor Dato Hilmy Othman and MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, also attended, accompanied by staff from the Premier’s Office.

The gathering reflected the strong spirit of unity within Sarawak’s administration, with leaders from various sectors coming together to celebrate Aidilfitri.

The event underscored the importance of festive occasions as platforms to strengthen relationships between senior officials and government employees, fostering harmony and cooperation across the state.

The Aidilfitri celebration at SABATI Hall highlighted the values of inclusivity and togetherness, reinforcing the belief that unity and close ties among leaders and staff remain the foundation of Sarawak’s strength and development.
