SARATOK – The Civil Defence Force (APM) Saratok responded to a garden fire in Kawit, Krian, Saratok on 30 March 2026 after receiving an emergency call from the public.
A team of four APM personnel was immediately mobilised to the scene. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the fire had spread from the garden into the nearby forest area, raising concerns about potential escalation.
Working together with the Saratok Fire and Rescue Department and assisted by members of the public, the APM team carried out coordinated extinguishing operations.
Thanks to the combined efforts, the fire was successfully brought under control within approximately one hour and six minutes.
The incident highlighted the importance of community cooperation in emergency situations. Local residents played a significant role in assisting the authorities, demonstrating the value of collective action in preventing further damage.
APM Saratok reminded the public to remain vigilant and avoid open burning, which can easily lead to uncontrolled fires.
Authorities stressed that preventive measures are crucial in safeguarding both residential areas and forest reserves from fire hazards.
