The Mukah District Emergency Operations Centre (PKOD) received an alert from a concerned member of the public who noticed the man’s deteriorating physical condition.

According to reports from the scene, the individual was found suffering from extreme lethargy and weakness in his limbs, rendering him unable to move or seek medical attention independently.

Upon receiving the notification, a team of trained APM personnel was immediately dispatched to the location.

After a brief initial assessment of his vital signs, the responders determined that the victim required immediate clinical evaluation.

Due to the man’s inability to walk, the team employed a manual carrying method to safely transport him from the exterior of the house to the waiting emergency vehicle.

The evacuation was conducted with care to ensure the patient’s stability was maintained throughout the process. Once secured inside the ambulance, the victim was blue-lighted to Mukah Hospital for emergency admission.

Medical professionals at the facility have since taken over his care to investigate the underlying cause of the sudden physical weakness.

This type of “illness case”, or Kes Sakit (SKT), is a frequent occurrence for the Civil Defence Force, which often acts as the first line of medical support in Sarawak’s suburban and rural districts.

Their role is particularly vital in ensuring that patients with limited mobility are moved safely without aggravating any potential injuries or health complications.

The APM Mukah team confirmed that the operation was handled smoothly and concluded once the patient was handed over to the hospital’s trauma and emergency department.

Local authorities continue to encourage residents to keep a watchful eye on their neighbours and report any signs of sudden illness to the emergency services promptly.
