SARIKEI – A 65-year-old man, identified as Tang Ing Sing, was hospitalised following a road accident in front of Jubli Mutiara on Thursday, 2 April 2026. The incident, which occurred in the early afternoon, prompted an immediate response from local emergency services.
The Sarikei District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received a distress call from the public at 12:44 pm. The MyASPA-O Alpha Squad was promptly dispatched, arriving at the scene by 12:50 pm.
Upon arrival, the emergency team discovered the victim suffering from facial injuries and a suspected fracture of his right leg.
The four-member squad immediately stabilised the victim, applying a splint to his leg and a cervical collar to his neck to prevent further injury during transport.
The victim was then loaded into an APM ambulance and transported to the hospital, arriving by 1:00 pm. The entire rescue operation was handled with efficiency, with the scene cleared and all personnel returning to the PKOD Sarikei base by 1:18 pm.
“The public is advised to always be careful on the roads and immediately contact the authorities in the event of an emergency to ensure that assistance can be provided quickly,” the Sarikei Civil Defence Force (APM) stated in a press release.
The quick intervention by the APM Sarikei team was instrumental in stabilising the victim’s condition before his arrival at the medical facility.
Authorities continue to urge all road users to exercise caution, particularly in high-traffic areas near Jubli Mutiara, as the safety of senior citizens and other vulnerable road users remains a top priority.
