MATU – A swift and professional operation by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Matu District successfully neutralised a black stinger nest at SK Orang Kaya Segunim on Thursday, 2 April 2026.
The intervention followed an urgent call to the district’s Operations Control Centre (PKOD), prompting immediate action to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The incident began when school authorities reported the presence of a black stinger nest on the roof lattice of the school building.
Recognised for their rapid response capabilities, APM personnel arrived at the scene equipped with specialised gear. After assessing the situation and confirming the nest’s location, the team prepared to execute a controlled removal operation.
Using a combination of Ridsect insecticide and fire suppression techniques, the APM officers systematically eliminated the nest. The operation concluded without incident, and the area was declared safe for normal activities to resume.
This method is a standard procedure for the APM when dealing with hazardous insect nests, ensuring both effectiveness and minimal risk to the surrounding environment.
