MUKAH – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Mukah successfully handled a snake capture operation on Saturday, 4 April 2026, after receiving an emergency call from the public.
The incident involved a black cobra measuring approximately 1.5 metres, which was discovered inside a kitchen refrigerator.
The sighting caused alarm among residents, prompting them to seek immediate assistance from the authorities.
APM Mukah quickly dispatched its duty team to the location. Upon arrival, personnel assessed the situation and carried out the capture using the pincer technique, a safe method designed to restrain snakes without causing harm.
The operation was completed smoothly, with the cobra safely removed from the premises. No injuries or untoward incidents were reported, and the situation was declared under control.
Local residents expressed relief at the swift response, praising the professionalism of the APM team.
