BINTULU – The Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) has stepped up enforcement in Bintulu through the implementation of Ops Lebih Load and Ops Attack on Commercial Vehicles.
The intensified operations were carried out on 8 April 2026 with the direct involvement of JPJ Sarawak Director YBrs Tuan Norizan Jili, who joined the JPJ Bintulu operations unit in the field.
During the exercise, officers inspected a total of 142 vehicles of various types. Several offences were detected, including overloaded lorries, drivers without valid Commercial Driving Licences (CDL), expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), and other technical violations.
Appropriate legal action was taken against offenders in accordance with existing regulations. JPJ Sarawak emphasised that such enforcement is crucial to maintaining road safety and protecting the integrity of the transport system.
The department highlighted that overloaded vehicles pose serious risks to road users, contributing to accidents and infrastructure damage.
By intensifying operations, JPJ aims to ensure compliance among commercial vehicle operators and reduce unsafe practices on the roads.
Director Norizan Jili reiterated JPJ Sarawak’s commitment to strengthening enforcement standards and improving service delivery.
He stressed that the department will continue to monitor operations closely, ensuring that enforcement is carried out with efficiency and integrity.
The ongoing operations in Bintulu reflect JPJ’s broader mission to safeguard public safety while promoting responsible road use.
With enforcement measures being intensified, the department hopes to instil greater awareness among drivers and transport companies about the importance of adhering to regulations.
