PADAWAN – Deputy Minister of Health, YB Dato Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib, continued her Sarawak Borneo Health Tour Programme with a working visit to the Braang Bayur Health Clinic, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare facilities and services in rural communities.
Operating since 2013, the Braang Bayur Health Clinic is classified as a Type 5 facility, serving an estimated population of 5,857 people.
The clinic records an average of 50 patient visits daily and provides core services including outpatient care, maternal and child health, non-communicable disease management, and dentistry. It is also supported by laboratory and pharmacy facilities.
The clinic, supervised by the Kota Sentosa Health Clinic, has expanded its scope to include community health services, school health programmes, mental health care, and pre-hospital emergency response (MECC). These additions reflect efforts to meet the evolving needs of patients and ensure comprehensive care.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister inspected the clinic’s facilities and reviewed its operational readiness. She noted the importance of leveraging digitalisation, with the clinic fully utilising the Clinic Community Management System (CCMS) to improve efficiency in daily treatment management.
The Deputy Minister emphasised that strengthening primary healthcare facilities is vital to maintaining the well-being of Sarawakians.
She praised the dedication of healthcare staff and highlighted the need for continuous improvement to ensure services remain responsive to current and future challenges.
Also present during the visit were Dr Veronica Lugah, Sarawak State Health Director; Dr Ainnur Ashiqin binti Abd Khalid, Medical Officer in Charge of Braang Bayur Health Clinic; and senior officials from the Sarawak State Health Department.
The visit reaffirmed the Ministry of Health’s focus on enhancing healthcare delivery in Sarawak, ensuring that rural communities benefit from accessible, efficient, and modern medical services.
