MATU – Emergency responders were called to SK Orang Kaya Selair in Matu on Friday, 17 April 2026, following an incident involving a man who fell from a building within the school compound.
The Matu District Civil Defence Force (APM) confirmed that its operations centre received a distress call from members of the public reporting the accident.
Three APM personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene using an ambulance to provide urgent assistance.
Upon arrival, the team met with the complainant to gather initial details about the victim’s condition. Early assessments revealed that the man had sustained head injuries and a fractured arm and was experiencing chest pain. Responders provided immediate first aid to stabilise him before arranging for hospital transfer.
The victim was subsequently transported to Daro Hospital for further medical treatment. Authorities have not released additional information about his identity or the circumstances leading to the fall, but investigations are expected to continue to determine the cause of the incident.
The operation was carried out smoothly, with APM members working in coordination with other emergency services to ensure the victim received timely care.
Officials later confirmed that the team returned safely to the district operations centre after completing the mission.
