MUKAH – The Mukah District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) responded to an emergency call on 19 April 2026 after residents reported the presence of a dwarf bee nest behind a house.
The call, made by a member of the public, alerted the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Mukah to the nest located in tree branches. A team was promptly dispatched to the site to carry out the removal operation.
Upon arrival, the squad assessed the situation and successfully destroyed the nest using Ridsect spray combined with controlled fire techniques.
The intervention was completed without incident, ensuring the safety of the household and surrounding community.
Officials confirmed that the operation was conducted smoothly, with no harm caused to residents or property.
The swift response highlights the readiness of APM Mukah to tackle environmental hazards that pose risks to public safety.
Residents were reminded that attempting to remove insect nests without professional assistance can be dangerous, as improper handling may provoke aggressive behaviour from the insects.
The Civil Defence Force encouraged the public to rely on trained personnel for such emergencies.
