Bau Police Retrieved Body of Teenager Drowned in Sungai Staat

BAU – A 14-year-old boy tragically lost his life after drowning in Sungai Staat, Kampung Segubang, on 21 April 2026.

According to Bau District Police, the teenager had gone to the river with friends for recreational activities. He was later reported missing after failing to resurface while bathing in the water.

Search and rescue operations were immediately launched, involving personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department alongside local villagers.

After several hours of effort, the victim was discovered at the bottom of the river. Medical officers at the scene confirmed his death.
