LIMBANG – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Limbang District has extended assistance to families affected by the recent fire at Rumah Senggat, Mile 8 Jalan Kubong, by distributing basic food kits on 22 April 2026.
The fire, which occurred on the evening of 21 April, destroyed one residential unit and damaged two adjacent homes.
A total of 32 victims from three households were displaced by the incident. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
The firefighting operation was carried out by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) with support from local residents.
APM Limbang confirmed that all victims are currently staying temporarily with relatives in the same village while awaiting further support from the authorities.
The food kits provided contained essential daily items to help ease the burden faced by the families during this period of displacement.
Officials explained that the initiative reflects APM’s concern for the welfare of the affected community. By providing immediate aid, the Civil Defence Force aims to ensure that victims have access to basic necessities while longer-term assistance is coordinated.
The Limbang District APM also reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility, pledging to work closely with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and other agencies to deliver follow-up support tailored to the victims’ needs.
