KUCHING – The Kuching South City Council (MBKS), led by Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, has contributed 10 units of four-seater bench chairs to Klinik Kesihatan Tanah Puteh, improving comfort and convenience for patients and visitors.
The initiative, supported by councillors, community leaders, and generous donors, aims to enhance the waiting experience at the clinic, particularly for the elderly, families with children, and patients seeking medical care.
Officials noted that the contribution reflects a shared commitment to fostering a caring, people-centred community environment.
Dato Wee expressed appreciation to all parties involved, highlighting that the effort demonstrates strong collaboration between the public sector, private businesses, and community stakeholders.
“This meaningful contribution goes beyond physical infrastructure. It reflects compassion, social responsibility, and a collective effort to improve the well-being of our community. Comfortable and accessible public healthcare spaces are essential in ensuring dignity and care for all,” he said.
He further emphasised that small but impactful contributions play a vital role in supporting public health services and enhancing the overall patient experience.
The initiative builds on previous efforts, including last year’s donation to Sarawak General Hospital, underscoring MBKS’s continued commitment to healthcare facilities in the city.
The Mayor extended heartfelt gratitude to the donors who made the initiative possible: HS Wee Holding Sdn Bhd, Ori Pasti Ori Kuching Sdn Bhd, Tay Motor Sdn Bhd, Councillor Eric Tay, Councillor Albert Tay, Alex Sim, Kelby Than, and Tai Zee Kin. Their generosity reflects the spirit of community collaboration in Kuching South.
Officials noted that the contribution demonstrates how collective action can bring positive changes to public facilities and quality of life.
MBKS reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a healthy and inclusive city, ensuring that public healthcare spaces are continuously improved to meet the growing needs of the community.
