JPJ, JIM and AADK Conducted Joint Operation in Sibu

SIBU – A coordinated enforcement exercise involving three government agencies was carried out in Sibu on 23 April 2026, targeting road safety, immigration compliance and drug-related offences.

The Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) through its Sibu Branch joined forces with the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) Sibu and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) Sibu in an integrated operation along Jalan Bukit Lima, near SMK St Elizabeth.

The operation was conducted during both morning and evening sessions. Authorities inspected a total of 342 vehicles of different categories throughout the day.

Officers identified several violations, including motorists failing to wear seat belts, driving without valid licences, expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), and technical faults relating to vehicle safety standards.

In addition to road offences, JIM Sibu detained two foreign nationals for breaches under the Immigration Act.

Meanwhile, AADK Sibu arrested eleven individuals who tested positive for drugs. These arrests were made to ensure further legal action could be taken in accordance with national laws.

The integrated operation highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration in maintaining public order.

By combining resources and expertise, JPJ, JIM and AADK were able to address multiple areas of concern simultaneously, ranging from traffic discipline to immigration control and drug prevention.
