The four-day programme, running until 26 April, showcased a wide range of activities designed to highlight the state’s agricultural potential and innovation.

Visitors to the event at Lot 777 were treated to agricultural talks, exhibitions of farm-based products, and demonstrations of the latest technologies and services in the sector.

The programme also included interactive sessions and lucky draws, making it both informative and engaging for the public.

The opening ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Dr Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ismail, Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development (Food Industry) and ADUN N.79 Bukit Kota, who represented Minister YB Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.

The event drew around 500 attendees, reflecting strong community interest in agricultural development.

During the ceremony, awards were presented to local entrepreneurs under the Jaya Entrepreneur and Jaya Breeder categories, recognising their contributions to the agricultural industry in Limbang Division.

Symbolic presentations of assistance were also made to recipients under the Agricultural Assistance Programme and the Livestock Commercial Development Programme, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives.

In addition, plaques were handed over to mark the next Agrofest stop in Sarikei Division, scheduled for June 2026.

This gesture highlighted the continuity of the tour and its role in connecting communities across Sarawak through agricultural innovation.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including YB Dato Palu @ Paulus Palu Anak Gumbang, ADUN N.80 Batu Danau; Puan Radziah binti Jack, representing the Director of the Sarawak Agriculture Department; YBhg Datu Dr Adrian Susin Ambut, Director of the Sarawak Veterinary Services Department; YBhg Datu Joseph Blandoi, General Manager of the Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Board; Puan Marie Rozita Kulai, Deputy Resident of Limbang Division; Mr Sulaiman Engal, Limbang District Officer; and Mr Amirul Fikri bin Jemali, Limbang Division Agriculture Officer.

Agrofest 2026 aims to strengthen Sarawak’s agricultural sector by promoting modern practices, encouraging entrepreneurship, and showcasing opportunities for sustainable growth.

The Limbang leg of the tour successfully set the tone for the upcoming events, combining knowledge-sharing with community celebration.
