MARUDI – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Marudi successfully carried out a pet rescue operation on 27 April 2026 after receiving an emergency call from Telekom Malaysia.
The incident occurred at GD Laundry 24Hr, located along Jalan Kapitan Lim Ching Kiat. According to reports, a pet cat had climbed onto the roof of the building and was unable to come down. Concerned for the animal’s safety, the complainant contacted APM for assistance.
Bravo Squad was immediately deployed from the District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) Marudi. The team, consisting of three members led by Pbt. (PA) Muhd Faizul Bin Zainal, travelled approximately three kilometres to reach the site. Upon arrival, the squad assessed the situation and began the rescue operation.
Using careful handling techniques, the officers managed to retrieve the cat safely from the rooftop. The animal was returned to its owner unharmed, and the operation concluded without incident. After completing the task, Bravo Squad returned to PKOD Marudi.
Officials confirmed that the rescue was conducted smoothly and highlighted the importance of community cooperation in reporting such cases.
The incident demonstrated the readiness of APM Marudi to respond to emergencies, whether involving public safety or animal welfare.
