MUKAH – The Mukah District Civil Defence Force responded to an emergency call on 28 April 2026 after residents reported the presence of a snake inside a local premises.
The incident involved a ring-necked snake measuring approximately one metre in length, which was discovered under a carpet.
The Civil Defence team arrived promptly and successfully captured the reptile using the pincer technique, ensuring safe removal without harm to residents.
Authorities confirmed that the situation was brought under control quickly and no untoward incidents were reported. The snake was secured, and the premises were declared safe for occupants.
The Civil Defence Force expressed appreciation to the public for reporting the case, noting that community vigilance is vital in preventing potential hazards.
Officers reminded residents that snakes can pose risks if left unattended, particularly when found inside homes or near populated areas.
