MUKAH – The Mukah District Civil Defence Force responded to an emergency call on 28 April 2026 after residents reported the presence of a lizard inside a home.
The reptile was discovered behind a refrigerator, prompting concern from the occupants. A Civil Defence team was dispatched to the location and successfully captured the lizard using the snaring technique, ensuring safe removal without harm to residents.
Authorities confirmed that the situation was quickly brought under control and no untoward incidents were reported. The premises were declared safe following the operation.
The Civil Defence Force expressed appreciation to the public for promptly reporting the case, noting that community vigilance is essential in preventing potential hazards.
Officers reminded residents that wild animals, even those considered less dangerous, can pose risks if left unattended in residential areas.
Mukah Civil Defence reiterated its readiness to respond to emergencies and encouraged residents to contact them immediately if faced with similar situations.
