KUCHING – The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) Sarawak welcomed a courtesy visit from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) on 30 April 2026, marking another step in strengthening inter-agency cooperation.
The delegation, led by Acting Director YBrs. Puan Norashikin binti Haron, was received by Sarawak State Immigration Director YBrs. Tuan Haji Abdul Halim bin Abang Naili, together with Finance Division Head Tuan Eddie Wani and senior officers of the department.
The visit aimed to reinforce strategic ties between JIM Sarawak and CAAM, particularly in areas of management and compliance with immigration regulations.
Both agencies emphasised the importance of collaboration to ensure smooth operations and effective enforcement.
During the discussion session, CAAM raised several matters concerning non-Sarawak staff working within the authority.
The dialogue provided an opportunity to clarify issues and explore practical solutions, with a question-and-answer segment allowing for direct engagement between the two sides.
Officials noted that such visits are vital in fostering mutual understanding and strengthening institutional relationships.
By addressing operational challenges and sharing perspectives, both agencies aim to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with national policies.
The courtesy visit reflects a broader commitment to inter-agency cooperation, ensuring that aviation and immigration authorities work hand-in-hand to support Sarawak’s development while maintaining regulatory standards.
